Kwok Ping Tsang

Kwok Ping (Byron) Tsang is an associate professor in the Department of Economics and affiliated faculty at The Kellogg Center for Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Virginia Tech University. Tsang also serves as a member of the Economic Research Centre at the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, and is the co-editor of Contemporary Economic Policy, a peer-reviewed economics journal. Tsang's research revolves around housing economics, cryptocurrency, great economic thinkers such as Adam Smith, macroeconomic policy over time, international finance, and much more. His research has been published in scholarly journals such as the Journal of Macroeconomics, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Pacific Economic Review, History of Economic Ideas, and many more. More of Tsang's work has appeared on Adam Smith Works and Econlib. Tsang earned his Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington. At Virginia Tech, Tsang has taught a range of courses, from Intermediate Macroeconomics, to the Economics and Moral Philosophy of Adam Smith, to Advanced Topics in Macroeconomics, and more.
