On March 18th, 2022 AdamSmithWorks published our first Great Antidote podcast episode. Juliette Sellgren, the host, had already been recording episodes for two years and we were delighted to be able to give the podcast a new home at a site dedicated to the namesake of the podcast. As Adam Smith said, “Science is the great antidote to the poison of enthusiasm and superstition.”
And many of the podcast explicitly feature conversation about Adam Smith:
James Otteson on What Adam Smith Knew
Kenneth Elzinga on Teaching Economics
Henry Clark on The Enlightenments
Daniel Klein on Adam Smith's Justice
Jon Murphy on The Jones Act and Adam Smith

Daniel Klein on Adam Smith's Justice

Since coming to AdamSmithWorks, the Great Antidote podcast has been download more than 30,700 times.
Two question you’ll get in every episode are:
- What is the most important thing people my age or in my generation should know that they don’t?
- What is one thing you believed at one time in your life that you later changed your position on and why?
Often, but not always, the answers are related to the subject of the conversation. Some of the most interesting response are the ones that aren't related to the topic. The top five episodes so far are:
James Otteson on What Adam Smith Knew
Lauren Hall on the Medicalization of Birth and Death
Josh Rauh on the Pending Public Pension Crisis
Jay Bhattacharya on the US Response to COVID-19
Jason Brennan on the Incentives in Criminal Justice
